Cloud9 and iBUYPOWER have become the final two teams joining Denial and NetcodeGuides to qualify for CEVO Professional Season 5 Finals on October 10-12.
Cloud9 topped the regular season with a 14-1 record, while iBUYPOWER finished closed second at 13-2, followed by teams such as LunatiK - now Denial - and NetcodeGuides.
In the playoffs the four eventual finalists won their opening round matches, but in the second round the favorites, namely Cloud9 and iBUYPOWER, were sent to the lower bracket.
Semphis led his team to CEVO Pro Season 5 Finals
With four teams qualifying for the finals, the upper bracket final was not played out, but C9 and iBUYPOWER still had to overcome Justus Pro and savage in the lower bracket.
iBUYPOWER took care of business first, scoring a 2-0 win that included a triple overtime game on de_season. Cloud9 then defeated savage 2-0, despite Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen' internet issues.
